A special expression from Fettercairn, this single malt was matured for a generous 23 years in ex-bourbon and Cognac casks before being bottled up at 48.5%. Part of Fettercairn’s range of increasingly intriguing age statement bottlings, expect plenty of fruit-forward character from this Highlander.
Nose: Fresh red apples and poached pears, with lightly toasted hazelnuts.
Palate: Creamy toffee, with plenty of warm spice and gentle heat, fruit compote, and grilled peaches.
Finish: Dried apricots and baking spices linger.
