We’ve had some beautiful releases lately – the Glenmorangie Signet Reserve for example, but this looks extra special! Firstly, it’s our first ever Mizunara – usually this exceptional wood is reserved for ridiculously expensive expresions!
That’s the beauty of course of getting your hands on the 1st in a new series of expressions – Great collectability, exceptional drinker. This is what Glenallachie say – “A rare species of Japanese oak, Mizunara is seldom used for whisky maturation due to its high cost and inclination to leak. The exceptional Mizunara barrels, combined with superior Oloroso puncheons and hogsheads, have created an incredibly indulgent and complex single malt. This dram is Billy’s favourite release of the year; with its exciting taste profile, it is a whisky to be savoured and enjoyed. ”
