Glencadam 1987 Connoisseurs Choice
Laid Down in ’87. Bottled in ’05. Yours for £3.99.
Some whiskies just feel like time capsules. This bottle of Glencadam 1987, released as part of Gordon & MacPhail’s revered Connoisseurs Choice series, was distilled during the final years of the Cold War and bottled in 2005—back when MySpace was a thing and iPhones didn’t exist.
For context: when this whisky went into cask, Rob (yes, our Rob) was just 9 years old. This is a rare chance to own something that’s older than most of the drams on your shelf — and almost certainly rarer.
Aged Elegance in a Glass
-
Nose: Fragrant and rich with sherried citrus peels, sultanas, vanilla spice, marmalade and barley sugars.
-
Palate: Full-bodied, with sweet cereals, crisp barley, dried oak, and a whisper of smoke.
-
Finish: Long and warming, with oak and gentle spice lingering on.
Why It Matters
At nearly 40 years old, this is a bottle from another time — made before modern automation took over, before Glencadam saw its 2000s revival, and before whisky collecting became what it is today. And it still sings.
Ultra-rare. Historically significant. And just £3.99 to enter.
