Not because itโs flashy.
Not because itโs expensive.
But because itโs one of the most iconic and storied modern whiskies ever released.
Glenfiddich Snow Phoenix was born out of chaos.
The story
In January 2010, weeks of heavy snow and record low temperatures caused several of Glenfiddichโs warehouse roofs to collapse under four feet of compacted snow.
Hundreds of maturing casks were suddenly exposed to the night sky in temperatures as low as โ19ยฐC.
Rather than write the whisky off, Glenfiddich did something extraordinary.
Distillery teams worked around the clock to rescue the casks โ and later created a unique vatting from those whiskies that had endured the freezing conditions.
The result became Snow Phoenix:
a one-off bottling created from survival, not design.
And it quickly became a cult release.

Snow Phoenix is a marriage of natural strength, non-chill filtered casks of different ages and finishes, including:
