This is a first for Glenmorangie — and it’s something special.
Introducing the Glenmorangie 12 Year Old Palo Cortado, the first time the distillery has ever finished its single malt in the rare and complex Palo Cortado sherry casks. Inspired by the gentle, mellow spirit maturing in ex-bourbon casks, Dr. Bill Lumsden sought out these prized sherry casks to elevate the whisky with richness and depth.
After a total of 12 years of maturation, the result is a beautifully layered Highland dram — soft, smooth, and full of character.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Vanilla fudge, honey, praline, chocolate-coated nuts, and seasonal spice
Palate: Milk chocolate, caramel, treacle, plum jam, spiced currants, and bittersweet citrus
Finish: Salted almonds, fragrant tobacco, liquorice, and peppery warmth
