Glenwyvis Inaugural Release 2018

The inaugural release of Glen Wyvis Highland Single Malt. Glen Wyvis is just north of Dingwall, beneath the mountain of Ben Wyvis.

A community owned and crowd funded distillery project, many of the bottles have gone to their crowd funders. Very few have gone on public sale.

Here’s lots of great technical information:

Highland Concerto barley, malted at Baird’s Inverness Maltings. Fermented with Pinnacle yeast for an average of 103 hours.

Matured in 80% First Fill Tennessee Whiskey, 15% First Fill Moscatel, 5% refill casks. Described as especially active casks. Their aim is to produce a youthful, vibrant whisky.

Official Tasting Notes

Nose – Light and floral, with a hint of malty sweetness.

Palate – A burst of rich stone fruit, giving way to brown sugar.

Finish – A long lingering vanilla balanced with ripe orchard fruit.

As is the case with practically every inaugural bottle of Glenwyvis, some slight tearing has occurred along the folds of the box.

Only entrants will the correct answer will be entered into the prize draw. Entrants will incorrect responses will not be entered but will still be charged.

The winner of this competition will be chosen either at the last date shown above or sooner if all tickets are sold. The winner and any runners up will be chosen live using random.org’s third-party draw service. Entrants will be able to use this service to ensure their tickets were included.
