Official Teaninich bottlings just don’t exist (outside of that one Flora and Fauna bottling), which is a crying shame as the independent efforts are quite sublime. This one doesn’t disappoint: the 17-year-old liquid is from refilled American oak hogsheads and sherry butts, both filled in 1999, and the resulting candied sweet spice is a delight. Fun fact: the Teaninich distillery uses an unusual mash filter press instead of a mash tun in production.
