We try, where we can, to get hold of the whiskies that win the coveted “Best Single Malt in the World” award in each year’s World Whisky Awards. Last time out, it was the fantastic Glenallachie Cask Strength Batch 4, and this time, it’s something a little bit special.
There have been winners from many countries before – for example, japan always does rather well, but we think this is the first time an English whisky has hit the highest heights. Unfortunatly, as is always the case – every bottle you could get your hands on has gone and they’re now trading at 5x the price you could get them at auction in March!
